Perth to Karijini

Nestled among the Hamersley Ranges in Pilbara, in the north-west of Western Australia, Karijini National Park is the second largest national park in Australia. Covering over 600,000 hectares, the park is famous for its gorges and its range of wildlife, which includes exotic legless lizards, red kangaroos, echidnas, geckos, goannas and plenty of birds and snakes – including pythons!

If all of that sounds enticing, perhaps you’d like to book on one of the Why Not Bus Karijini national park tours from Perth or Exmouth?

More about our tours

Located around 640km inland from Exmouth, you can reach Karijini from Perth on our 14-day tour to Broome – or, if you’re booked on for Perth to Exmouth, we offer an adventure from Exmouth to Broome on the Flying Sand Groper, with an idyllic two-day stopover at the national park. During this time, you’ll be able to take in some of the most impressive terrain Australia has to offer – make sure you bring your hiking gear and your swimming trunks, as the gorges and waterfalls at Karijini are unlike any you’ll find elsewhere on the planet!

The bus tour includes your entry to the park and begins with a trip through Hancock Gorge and a swim in the picturesque Kermits Pool. We’ll then pass through the Spider Walk and check out Oxers, Junction Pool and Jofre lookouts. We’ll also take in Knox Gorge before returning to camp, where you can discuss everything you’ve seen with your fellow backpackers.

On the second day, we visit Dales Gorge, taking in Fern Pool and Fortesque Falls – and stopping off for a cooling swim – before meeting back up at the coach.

Unlike other adventure tours, we place an emphasis on relaxation and doing what you want to do – on the Why Not Bus, there’s no waking up at the crack of dawn – we like to position ourselves as being like a trip you’d organise with your mates! The bus is fully kitted-out with all the essentials too, so all you need to do is arrive at the pick-up point with an open mind and a desire to see what Western Australia has to offer.
